A learning and dancing weekend
with Maria Filali & Sigrid Van Tilbeurgh
A weekend to dive deep into both your Tango Dance Roles with Totally in Tango and ENTRE-DOS / DUO DE TANGO - Maria Filali & Sigrid Van Tilbeurgh - five classes, one guided practica, and four milongas all in one place.
Our teacher team has been part of the European tango scene for many years, and they have embraced double-role dancing, and teaching, to its core. This is the third time that they are with Totally in Tango.
Folkestone is easily reached from the mainland through the Chunnel (3.5 km to the hotel) or by ferry to Dover from Calais or Dunkerque (10 km to the hotel). There are direct train connections from London. We expect a mix of dancers from Europe and from the United Kingdom. Together we create a melting pot of Tango Aficionados.
The Program
The Venue
Folkestone in winter is attractive for nostalgia, seagull cries, windy walks on the beach, visiting the white cliffs, and time with old and new friends in a welcoming atmosphere.
The event takes place in the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone. We stayed at the hotel in the summer of 2023 and were charmed by the quiet glory of the old wing where we will dance. The staff was helpful and warmed immediately to the idea of having a tango dance weekend at their venue. The hotel has a 2-star rating, and they offered us a reduced rate on the rooms (details below). For your comfort, we will bring over our '3 diamonds’ dancefloor. It is a first-grade wooden dancefloor, resting on half tennis balls for a soft, bouncy feel. You will keep on dancing for sure. We will also bring in the sound system.
Pricing & Registration
We welcome all dancers that enjoy double role dancing.
No need to register with a partner.
We all dance with each other.
Is your friend/partner (still) a single role dancer? You are both welcome.
Your participation will only be
confirmed by us after the reception of your participation fee.
